About General Ling
General Ling started her journey as a kid loving music, never thinking that doing it a career or profession was possible. Her stint in the military made her realise that music was what she wanted to do.
She started off as an a-cappella singer, doing parts. Until she chanced upon a bunch of people making drum sounds, this kickstarted her life as a beatboxer.
She started to teach and compete all over, it brought her to various places. Then she got exposed into the music industry and started to co-write songs for public works. Some jingles, some songs of her own. She started performing them too.
One of her song "Had Enough" was in Netflix Snowpiercer, she was thrilled. Then she co-wrote a theme song based on a popular Singapore drama known as Ti Tou Dao.
More engagements came, she started to appear on TV and be featured in news channel, radio interviews, sharing about her story and her songs. She was even featured as a female leader paving the way for equity.
It taught her that her voice was heard and valued, and now through her songs, is the same value she wants to share with the rest of the world. That you are worthy, and you are heard.
